Our Happy Halloween

This is Eric's masterpiece

Ridin' in style! In their super hot Radio Flyer. (Oh to be young again. While looking completely adorable, have some one chauffeur you around whilst others bestow handfuls of treats to you.)

So this is the first year my kids (except Tatum) had a preference as to what costume they would be donning.

Emry has been obsessed with watching Scooby Doo lately and insisted on being Daphne. I wasn't sure how easy this would be to find, but thanks to ol' reliable (Target.com) Emry paraded her Daphne ensemble and orange hair around with style.

My animal loving (well.....to be more accurate, anything that moves, so to also include but not limited to bugs, fish, and reptiles) Summy Bunny initially wanted to be a baby lamb. I soon realized most baby lamb costumes were meant for infants. So we compromised on Little Bo Peep. She was happy. (notice the baby lamb on her apron)

Poor Tatum had no choice but to be my little Piglet. I was quite impressed. She kept her hooded ears on most of the night. She caught on to Trick-or Treating so quickly. I suppose the idea of someone dropping candy in your bucket just for knocking on their door seemed like a dream come true for her.

Eric and I are clearly dressed up as ................ ummm well ................ awesome person 1 and 2. Ok but for the record I at least made a slight attempt and wore a Halloweenish shirt.

All in all we had a fab night. We went to my parents neighborhood for trick-or-treating and a super fun block party. Eric and I lucked out. Emry tired out quickly and was ready to be done after about 15 or 20 houses. Summer on the other hand was in usual form (the energizer bunny, hence her nick name Summy Bunny) She ran from house to house and would have kept going for who knows how long. Here are what the kids considered to be the two highlights of the night....

A: cotton candy (a personal favorite for my kids) at the block party.

B: The QT...... um I mean house with all the full size candies where I know they took more than one.

Can't say that I blame them.

You mentioned my costume, well, I guess I was an awesome person like you. I had a halloween shirt too.

The girls costumes are cute! I love the little piglet costume! Thats neat your parents neighborhood has a block party, what a fun idea! I don't know what it is about spun sugar, but cotton candy is always a big sticky hit at our house too!

I want to come with you next year. That looks better than a candy store. The girls look so cute. We missed seeing everyone dressed up and coming to our house for candy. We didn't even trick r treat this yr. We went to St. George/Cedar City for a baptism. So my kids got candy at Grandmas. They told me it wasn't the same. But loved seeing cousins.
Didn't get to Tai Pan - dang it. But did make it to Roberts craft. That was not good - glad there was no money in the account.haha!
